Gembira Loka Zoo
Gembira Loka Zoo is a zoo in Yogyakarta. Loka means the place, Gembira means haapy. Finally, nearly half a century ago, Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono IX manifest desire to develop his predecessors ‘Bonraja’ kelangenan wildlife preserve where the king became a public garden animals. So Happy Loka was established over an area of 20 ha of protected forest half. There are more than 100 species of animals including 61 species of flora.
